Terms of use
Effective version 2.1 · Updated 4 November 2026
Your account
You need a MaiSay account to keep your practice, and your sign-in is yours alone to use. You can close the account at any time from Settings › Your data.
Using MaiSay
Using MaiSay means accepting these terms, the Privacy Policy and the AI Data Policy. If you do not agree, do not use MaiSay; you can delete your account in Settings › Your data.
Your plan
The free plan gives you 3 free lessons a day, and the same daily limit covers writing with Mai; speaking inside a lesson is unlimited. MaiSay Pro lifts the daily limit and is billed by the store you bought it from. The store's rules cover billing, renewal and refunds, and you manage or cancel a subscription in the store. A subscription renews at the store's price until you cancel it; a one-time purchase does not renew. Deleting your MaiSay account does not cancel a store subscription.
What you make
What you write, say, upload and create in MaiSay stays yours. You give MaiSay permission to store it, copy it and use it to run, fix and improve the service, including training and testing MaiSay's own scoring, and to pass it to the service providers that help do this. The AI Data Policy says what is sent to AI service providers. MaiSay does not sell your recordings and does not publish them.
Your recordings
When you speak in the app, MaiSay keeps the recording, linked to your account, and uses it to improve scoring and to fix problems. Recordings are kept for as long as you have the account.
Leaving
Deleting your account removes the recordings nothing has used yet. A recording already used for labelling or training is kept, and so is what was derived from it.
Resetting your progress
A reset clears your place in the course and takes you back to onboarding. Your account, plan and voice history always stay. Your streak and calendar, the study sets you made, and your Write with Mai texts and Speak with Mai answers stay too, unless you choose to delete them.
Scores and feedback
A score is software judging one recording, and software can be wrong. The same goes for feedback on what you write and say. Treat it as practice feedback, not as a qualification. MaiSay does not promise a result, such as passing an exam or reaching a level.
What you share
Other learners can see the study sets you share, and your name and picture on game boards. Don't post anything hateful, sexual, harassing or spam, and don't abuse other learners. MaiSay removes content like that and may close the account behind it. Anyone can report a set or a learner, or block them, from inside the app.
Breaking these terms
MaiSay may close an account that breaks these terms.
Changes to MaiSay
MaiSay may change, add or remove features, lessons and other content, service providers and prices. A price change for a subscription you already have follows the store's rules.
As it is
MaiSay is provided as it is. It can have faults, and it can be unavailable at times. As far as the law allows, MaiSay is not liable for losses that come from using it or from not being able to use it. Nothing here takes away a right the law gives you that cannot be taken away.
Changes to these terms
A material change raises the version of this document, and MaiSay asks you to accept the new one. Smaller edits update this page and its date.
